Saul Gonzalez is COO for Con-way Truckload. Con-way Truckload is a leader in truckload and intermodal services throughout North America. As vice president of operations for Con-way Truckload, Gonzalez oversees the day-to-day management for all operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Con-way Truckload is a subsidiary of Con-way Inc. (NYSE:CNW), a $5.3 billion freight transportation and logistics services company headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich. Con-way delivers industry-leading services through its primary operating companies of Con-way Freight, Menlo Worldwide Logistics and Con-way Truckload. These operating units provide less-than-truckload (LTL), full truckload; as well as logistics, warehousing and supply chain management services; and trailer manufacturing. Con-way Inc. and its subsidiaries operate from more than 500 locations across North America and in 20 countries across 5 continents.

As vice president of operations for Con-way Truckload, Saul Gonzalez is responsible for the transport carrier and logistics relations with Mexican carriers and freight forwarders at the United States/Mexico border, CFI Logistica based in Guadalajara, Mexico, and regional transport sales. With over 20 years of service with Con-way Truckload, he has been actively involved in strategic planning, sales and operations.

Gonzalez began his career in the transportation industry over 30 years ago, working with Danny Herman Trucking as a sales manager in El Paso, Texas. After relocating to Laredo, Texas, as the director of sales, he joined Con-way Truckload in 1991 as the sales and operations manager. During his tenure at Con-way Truckload, he has been located in Joplin, Missouri, and Guadalajara, Mexico, as director of sales and later as vice president-Mexican Carrier Relations.

With Gonzalez’s support, the Mexico division has grown to 40% of Con-way Truckload’s total revenues. Con-way Truckload now operates over 2,700 tractors and more than 8,600 trailers and delivers industry leading full truckload service to shippers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Con-way Truckload was one of the first carriers to establish truckload operations in Mexico and has been recognized for its excellence in export service; Con-way Truckload received the President’s “E” and “E-Star” Awards. The company is also ISO 9001-2000 certified.

Gonzalez attended the University of Texas at El Paso. He is based out of Con-way Truckload’s headquarters in Joplin, Mo.
